anyone got any top tips for activties for young toddlers whilst it's this hot please? we usually rely on the fab Bolingbroke One O'Clock Club for a change of scene but I feel that 1pm is just about the wrong time to set off for activities in a heatwave!

ds is 2.2 so while tempting, things like the Lidos are ultimately too much like hard work - but could do with some tips on outdoorsy things that aren't just the playground or staying in the garden (as we've done plenty of that already this week!).

don't mind driving as long as there's parking and don't mind taking the bus if really necessary!

wetlands centre in barnes is fantastic, but definitely try it and then get membership on same day (you get your money back for day ticket) as it is expensive otherwise.

fantastic enclosed playground with water jets and zipline. just right for preschoolers up to aged about 10 i imagine.

Might be tricky logistically but we discovered Streatham common has a paddling pool & the rookery looks really nice too

may have missed the hot weather but wimbledon park water play area is fantastic...parking near there and great fun and much less hard work than lido!
