Welcome to MN Local - Switzerland.

Feel free to post here to ask for info on Switzerland, whether you live here already, are moving here, are planning a holiday in Switzerland, or just want to chat about chocolate.

Grutzi ladybug, are you close enough to us to join in on a night out? Zug and Allendwinden (ame place really) are where we are. Our big night out was supposed to be tonight, but I have done some damage to my knee so it will have to be postponed.

Bonjour

I'm quite new to MN, but not so new to Switzerland.

TheMysticMasseuse Fri 05-Feb-10 18:21:50

mmmmhhh tempting..... grin

fonduechinoise Fri 05-Feb-10 18:03:52

Not even me Mystic? sad
I am virtually fat free wink

TheMysticMasseuse Fri 05-Feb-10 16:20:45

found you! I am a new addition to the Geneva scene (an oxymoron if there ever was one!).

I am determined never to go near a fondue in my life, just the thought of it gives me flatulence hmm

fonduechinoise Thu 04-Feb-10 17:22:27

Bonjour Mme Chocolat and everyone
am feeling gooood because tomorrow is Friday and I am off next week grin.
yes we had the sirens too yesterday!

MmeLindt Thu 04-Feb-10 16:18:20

How are you all today? Did they test the atomic warn sirens all over CH yesterday or just here in GE?

fonduechinoise Thu 04-Feb-10 14:55:29

where about are you? i am in allenwinden and off next week

giddybiddy Thu 04-Feb-10 13:36:51

Hi, we're just outside Zug, can't meet up on Friday 19th as kids half term and we're away for a few days, however always up for coffee or wine grin so let me know when you plan the next one.

fonduechinoise Tue 02-Feb-10 19:05:05

welcome giddybiddy
where are you based?
how is everyone today?

MmeLindt Tue 02-Feb-10 14:58:10

Hello Giddybiddy.

Welcome to the Swiss Corner.

giddybiddy Tue 02-Feb-10 14:48:55

This is so very exciting! Somewhere we can bemoan the lack of salt & vinegar crisps and share depressing anecdotes about Swiss life - I'm in.......

fonduechinoise Thu 28-Jan-10 21:02:52

lol I think you are making the right decision!

I am struggling to register into the Switzerland Mumsnet Local sad

MmeLindt Thu 28-Jan-10 20:22:27

Ha! We should swap homes. My French is terrible but I am fluent in German.

On second thought, no. I think I will stick with the French rather than trying to learn Swiss German.

fonduechinoise Thu 28-Jan-10 20:09:41

Thanks for the brief Mme Lindt!
How about you do it for CH then and should it prove too much work for you I'll be happy to do it for the German side?
Oui (car je suis française) but dh is British.
I was very impressed with your OP title, especially with the Rumantsch wink

MmeLindt Thu 28-Jan-10 19:54:42

And is noone impressed that I did the OP title in French, German, Italian and Rumantsch. I had to google Rumantsch.

MmeLindt Thu 28-Jan-10 19:53:42

Basically it is just looking after the MN local pages, checking to see if there are listings needing removed. tbh, if you do not have a lot of time (CatherineMN said we should check it once a week if possible) then I think that one tsarina for CH is fine.

If you are powerhungry keen to do something then go ahead and ask if you can do the German bit.

Do you speak French?

fonduechinoise Thu 28-Jan-10 19:09:01

<<<waving hello to Mme Lindt>>>

fonduechinoise Thu 28-Jan-10 19:07:56

Moi?! oh la la....
I don't think I am the best person for this because I work full time and I don't sprechen Deutsch...yet!
What does it involve?

MmeLindt Thu 28-Jan-10 19:00:19

Bonjour Fondue!

Are you going to be tsarina for German Switzerland?

fonduechinoise Thu 28-Jan-10 18:54:38

Hello everyone
Nice to see some MNetters in Switzerland
Am based just outside Zug - since Nov 2007. Came from London and it is a bit of a shock to the system to be here LOL
I have one DD who will be 6 in March.
All are welcome to the meet_up we are trying to organise in Zug on 19 Feb of course wink

MmeLindt Thu 28-Jan-10 18:51:07

Glad you found your way over here, Meita. Good to have a 'local' here, even if you are now in UK.

Local listings are not yet working, but I have managed to get a classified ad up.

Meita Thu 28-Jan-10 18:44:41

Just dropping in to say hi

Thanks Mme Lindt for pointing me in this direction.

I've lived in Switzerland for 30 years of my life but am now in England. So not really local anymore

strudelface Thu 28-Jan-10 16:23:11

Bonjour fellow Swiss mumsnetters.

<blows dust off fondue set>

As an aside never had fondue - does not appeal - what's the attraction?

kreecherlivesupstairs Thu 28-Jan-10 08:41:53

Grutzi mitternand. Sory I don't have umlauts on my keyboard (do have the Thai alphabet though so one day I may start all sawadi kha'ing).
I''ve just tried to put our Zug meet up on the board but couldn't. I will persevere.
