Nearly the new academic year...why not sign up to our book group as your 'extra-curricular' activity this 'term'?

We have some current vacancies in our book group. Would you like to join us for bi-monthly literary chatter, the odd bottle glass of wine, occasional (quarterly) meals out sampling the best of local cuisine (we have The Ivy Cafe firmly in our sights!) and general bonhomie?

We usually meet somewhere central (Wimbledon) for a couple of hours, once the DCs are tucked up in bed wink.

Some of the books we've read in the past year or so include:

The Versions of Us (Laura Barnett)
The Book of Memory (Petina Gappah)
The Wolf Border (Sarah Hall)
Noonday (Pat Barker)
The Paying Guests (Sarah Walters)
A Woman on the Edge of Time (Jeremy Gavron)

We get many of our books FREE to coincide with the Mumsnet (main site) 'Book of the Month' online webchats.

We've started varying the day of the week we meet on (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday), mindful that one day doesn't necessarily suit everyone all of the time.

And as parents we are very much aware that it's not always possible to make every meet-up, so we're totally flexible on attendance.

Our next meet-up is detailed here, when we'll be discussing The Versions of Us (and anything else we might have read over the summer).

We are a very friendly group of local mums, so please do get in touch if you'd like to join us. We look forward to hearing from you.
