Can anyone lend me some baby stuff, please?

My niece and her partner, and young baby, are coming over from Australia for 5 weeks, from the beginning of April.

They are going to be based at our house, but we no longer have any baby stuff - my DC are 22 and 19, so it's a long time since we needed any!

I need to borrow, if at all possible:

- a car seat (baby will be 9 months old when they arrive)
- a travel cot
- a high chair

I live in Merton Park. If anyone has any of this spare that could lend me for that period, I'd be eternally grateful!

many thanks, in anticipation

Sorry, don't have any of the above as we still use them but do let me know if you need anything else.

Hi TheRealBIWI

I posted your request on our Facebook Page and 'tweeted' about it. Will try again with 'Twitter'.

Good luck.

Thank you!

Have asked people to 'retweet' - do you have any friends who could do so too?

If you look to the side of this 'add message here' box you will see the relevant 'tweet'!

Oooh - good idea!

Any luck yet TheRealBIWI?

Have you looked on any of the Freecycle sites?

TheRealBIWI Thu 06-Mar-14 17:41:18

No not yet. Hadn't thought about Freecycle, although I have discovered that you can hire this stuff as well, which I might investigate

I have a travel cot stuffed under the bed which I intended to give away a while ago. If you are still looking I can get it out and check it over.

Thanks for offering, Shuturp!

Thank you very much, Shuturp!

I've managed to find a highchair and a car seat, so I'm sorted now.

I'll PM you about the travel cot.

How very fitting that on International Women's Day, Mumsnet Merton can demonstrate the productive power of women working together for a common end :-)!

Indeed - as well as confirming the value of the Local Boards, and (of course) the efforts of a local editor.
