Would anyone be up for a daytime meetup in a park somewhere in Manchester this Easter holiday? I'm thinking somewhere with an enclosed playground/lots of space for picnics. Any takers? And any ideas about location?

I've got two boys, 4.7 and 17 months. They're lovely and will play with anyone, though the older one might insist his name is Batman grin

(Tis NinthWave in disguise, BTW!) See you tomorrow grin

There's a big picnic space with tables/chairs/highchairs in the Aerospace gallery opposite the main building, should be plenty of room to -stuff ourselves with delicious cake eat a picnic there smile

Picnics I think.

I'm in all day as I'm having my new door fitted as we speak. Is it picnics all round or the cafe for lunch tomorrow?

TheOneWithTheHair Thu 12-Apr-12 09:00:57

Everyone is meeting about 11 Inmysparetime. Was going to come over later and let you know because you aren't on fb. Will check to make sure you get this. smile

So, weather looks not too bad, but not warmsad
Is the consensus MOSI then?
The foyer is quite open, we could meet near the welcome desk.
DS will make cake (he doesn't really need much of an excuse).

Did someone say cake? <cackles mischievously> See you Fridaygrin
My DS could be persuaded to bake for England a little something...

<looks out of window, checks five day forecast>

MOSI it is, I think! There's a place to eat a picnic lunch in the Aerospace gallery, a few of us are bringing cakes smile

going to have to send my apologies, I'm afraid - we've been three-line-whipped into attending FIL's birthday lunch on Friday. Have fun y'all smile

My DCs are big fans of MSIM so whatever's the consensus we'll just turn up.

Evening all smile

Given the unpredictable weather we've been blessed with recently, it's been suggested that the Museum Of Science & Industry might be a more suitable place to meet on Friday - what does everyone think?

If it does turn out to be gorgeous sunshine, we can always revert back at the last minute...

(Also, if anyone wants to add me on FB just chuck me a PM and I'll link you)

8 days to go, bumping before I go away for the weekend grin

inmysparetime Fri 30-Mar-12 19:52:41

Just giving this a quick bump now Easter hols have started.

TheOneWithTheHair Thu 22-Mar-12 12:00:45

Good idea.

Heaton Park tramstop would be fine for meeting, it's across the road from the park entrance and if most people are getting the tram, it'll be easy.

TheOneWithTheHair Wed 21-Mar-12 07:25:47

That's good for me too. Can't give a land mark because I dont know that park either.

inmysparetime Wed 21-Mar-12 07:09:02

Friday noon is fine by me.

NinthWave Tue 20-Mar-12 19:30:01

Right, well after lengthy consultation with my mother (who is visiting Tues-Weds) it looks like Friday is the only day I can do, now.

How does that suit everyone? I don't know Heaton Park at all really so someone will have to tell me a landmark to meet at grin say 12ish? Or a bit later?

inmysparetime Fri 16-Mar-12 06:40:30

Either is fine with me, someone pick one please (and a time) and I'll be there with my two (10&8)

NinthWave Wed 14-Mar-12 21:06:06

Haha Charlotte I know that feeling!

TheOneWithTheHair Wed 14-Mar-12 21:04:59

I would prefer Wednesday but can do either.

CharlotteBronteSaurus Wed 14-Mar-12 21:04:00

i don't work on Weds so that's good for us.
also, judging by the Christmas holiday, i may have killed one or both of the children if we leave it too late

NinthWave Wed 14-Mar-12 21:01:59

OK, I propose either Weds 11th or Friday 13th - any preferences?

inmysparetime Wed 14-Mar-12 21:00:34

I'm at work on Mon& Tues, and away for the bank hols, otherwise I'm about, and have a 10yo and 8yo.

CharlotteBronteSaurus Wed 14-Mar-12 20:53:37

Yes, I'd like to come, if that's ok?

I missed the pub one out of sheer absented-mindedness sad, so will try to keep this on my active convos

Heaton Park is unbelievably convenient for me, but have car, will travel (and can squeeze another adult and child in for lifts).
