Advice on pre-schools / nurseries in Streatham

I'm currently looking at what options there are in the Streatham / Streatham Hill area for sending my daughter to pre-school on a part-time basis from next year - but am having difficulty finding useful info on what's what!

She will be 2 in February, so it would be sometime after that (we're expection baby no2 in May, so not sure whether to start her before/after that) - probably only part-time, say 3 mornings a week.

Does anyone have any advice on what are the best pre-schools or nurseries (that accept part-timers) in the area? Any tips would be most welcome

Are you looking for childcare, or activities, iyswim?
What school might she go to? Do they have a pre-school or nursery?

Several MN-ers have used the way in which she handled it was that she was confirming his crticism of me . Elm Park Nursery happily - closer to Clapham, perhaps. Cherubins in Palace Rd used to be v good then went through a more troubled patch, and may be on the up again.

There's a few threads on nurseries in Streatham if you use the search thing. There's waiting lists for lots of places so probably time to start phoning round. All the ones I talked to have part-timers but I'm down past Streatham Common.

Personally I'd look at the ones nearest your house or where you commute from and take it from there. grin

Not childcare... just activities, play, learning to socialise in a school-ish environment.

Not sure where she'll go to school yet. Thanks for tips, though may be a little far away (we are on Valley Road - between Streatham Hill and Streatham Common) and although we have a car, I'd prefer to be able to walk most days.

Both Hitherfield and Streatham Wells schools (and maybe Sunnyhill, too?) have Children's Centres attached which might have groups - and which should have noticeboards with ads for groups and pre-schools. The church near Saainsbury's at S Common has a range of groups fo 2-3yo, I think.
