Its very quiet in here or are we just a lot of lurkers here in Inverness..

valerievalerian Fri 15-Mar-13 17:52:00

I agree too a highland thread would be good.

only just noticed that people have posted on here, it was just so quiet that I have not checked back for awhile..I am kinda near to Inverness.

I reckon Highland would be best too - I've got Inverness in my address but definitely not in the city though. Like you Kentucky I'm in the sticks but not the far away sticks...

SpookyRumours Tue 16-Oct-12 21:42:16

Wow I can't believe how busy it's been on here today grin. Agree a highland board would be better.

oricella Tue 16-Oct-12 19:43:44

I saw that thread and, not being scottish, found the level of emotion on both sides quite astonishing. I have a theory that the mood in the Highlands on independence is very different from the Central Belt; would it really make a difference being 'ruled' from Edinburgh than from London?

poachedeggs Tue 16-Oct-12 19:39:01

Haha Wallace you've got the knack. I get sucked into that sort of thing like a hun into a pram fight really easily so just as well I missed it smile

Interesting that a few of us have materialised with this thread, hopefully we'll collect more if we keep it active for a bit!

FateLovesTheFearless Tue 16-Oct-12 19:27:24

Hello fellow ness folk. Long term mner here too. About 7 years. Highland would definitely be better. Aside from here I don't think I have bumped into any other Invernesian about the mn board smile

Wallace Tue 16-Oct-12 19:24:28

Actually just to lazy to bother reading anything serious

Wallace Tue 16-Oct-12 19:19:54

I didn't read that thread - saw the title and ignored

KentuckyFriedChildren Tue 16-Oct-12 17:45:09

Twas rather rude aye.

InVeryveryBadTaste Tue 16-Oct-12 17:27:49

KFC - thats the one!

InVeryveryBadTaste Tue 16-Oct-12 17:27:12

did you not see it Wallace? The whole "scottish being too scottish" malarky, the uproar is caused etc etc etc.
Anyway a lot of people reported it (including me) and it spawned a whole new thread complaining about MNHQ's handling of it.

Anyway, on a brighter note would be good to have a highland threadgrin

KentuckyFriedChildren Tue 16-Oct-12 17:25:33

Is that the one about the nasty Scottish people?

Wallace Tue 16-Oct-12 17:21:53

Other thread?

InVeryveryBadTaste Tue 16-Oct-12 17:18:46

ooh maybe after the "other" thread we're going to get banished completely!!
Really hope not smile

KentuckyFriedChildren Tue 16-Oct-12 17:12:53

Oh and yes I agree about changing it to highlands. It's such a huge area after all

KentuckyFriedChildren Tue 16-Oct-12 17:11:29

My address has Inverness at the end but I don't actually live in the city. Am in the sticks, just the not so far away sticks smile

Hello! MN are aware that the geographical distribution of the local boards isn't ideal, and are looking at improving the local function as we speak BUT I can probably take some credit for it being deathly quiet cos I'm a rubbish tsarina blush

As Wallace says <hi Wallace!> there are a few of us around but we're not very good at meeting up. Everything's so bloody far away!

Keep strong against the tide of tickers and sparkly shit though grin

What she said!
Changes are afoot.

Watch this space over the next few days for more info.

InVeryveryBadTaste Tue 16-Oct-12 09:14:52

I think you're right in that having a few boards may make it even quieter. I'm liking the highland idea smile

SneckyTsarina Tue 16-Oct-12 08:31:37

The one MNer I knew who was actually in Inverness moved out of the town last year!

I reckon MNHQ will be open to suggestions, so does anyone have any specific suggestions? A Highland board might be better, I agree. At first I thought splitting Inverness into the city, the north west highlands and islands, north and then Nairn, Strathspey and Badenoch would make it easier to engage people but the more I think about it it may just be too quiet for that - I don't see that changing dramatically right now.

oricella Tue 16-Oct-12 08:23:58

grin... could have reported my own post, but with your name it was too tempting to use yours

not in Inverness either

Huh Oricella (affronted)
grinnever been reported before- I'm quite chuffed tbh, that's pathetic isn't it?
And no, we're not in Inverness now. Are any of you?

oricella Tue 16-Oct-12 08:11:51

I mean, if they MNHQ change the name, we'll be honourbound etc...

oricella Tue 16-Oct-12 08:10:56

well, inveryverybadtaste, I have reported your post immediately grin Of course that would mean we'd be honourbound to be more prolific posters...
