Hi all,
I only moved here 4 months ago and am now 31 weeks pregnant - not long to go before our first arrives! I haven't met many people in the area yet because I have a very busy job so am a little worried that I won't know many people when I'm at home with our son, particularly ones in the same boat.

Are there any good meet-ups or baby groups that you can recommend? We live near Puddletown.

Hi, welcome to the area.

There is loads of groups in this area. Are you planning to breastfeed? There is a breastfeeding group here in Dorchester and I there is a group in Puddletown.

I run a baby yoga class here in Dorchester. I know of a baby massage class but some are also run at the Surestart centre and there is swimming aswell. Don't worry there will be plenty to do if you are not too knackered.

I have to go out in a while but will post later.

Hi Sailorsgal,
Thanks for the response, that all sounds great. I'm planning to breastfeed so will definitely try to find the local group to me. The baby yoga class sounds fab! I did loads of yoga before I got pregnant but haven't done any for the past 7 months as we've been too busy moving house and because I know a lot of the poses aren't good during pregnancy. I can't wait to get back into it.

Hi again,

There are lots of great yoga teachers in the area so after you have the baby you can get back to classes.

There is a group in Bere Regis that is for pregnant ladies and new mums. I think it is still on Wednesday mornings. It is run by Linda Essex. If you ask at your surgery they may have more details. I'll try to find out for you.

Linda Essex is lovely, she also does belly dancing classes for pregnant ladies.
