Play groups / mum toddler groups in Teddington?

Does anyone know of any good play groups, one oclock clubs or mother and toddler groups around here?

I know there's a friday one in the local baptists church that's meant to be good (big queues!) but it's the one day i can't do.

Just trying to find a good place to meet other local mums and give DD a bit of excitment away from CBeebies and my pots and pans.

If you fancy heading to St Margarets there is a great playgroup at St Stephen's church on Northcote road from 10am on Wednesdays. It gets very busy though so you need to arrive a bit before 10. I've also just emailed you ...

Hello Kate

That same fab playgroup also runs on Tues am too, but yes just get there early as they shut the doors when it's full.

There seem to be lots of organised activities in Teddington (swimming, singing, music etc) and don't know many drop in places, more playgroups in Twickenham.

There is one good but small playgroup in Hampton Wick at Baptist church on Weds 10am. There is also Little Fishes soft play in Hampton hill which is great if you don't mind travelling a bit further.

I'm in Teddington too. You could join in local chat if you want to meet some other mums, there are ad hoc meet ups with and without the DC. just post and say hello, everyone is v.friendly

My one year old is staying with granny next week, can anyone recommend a group that they could go to? Something to help granny out and tire out the little man! She lives not far from the library and would be walking there?
Many thanks x

Hi all I thought I'd just let you all know I'm currently due to have my first in 2 weeks but also I'm a fully qualified nanny looking to go back to work with my daughter around sept/oct 2013 around the Wandsworth,Balham,Clapham or Richmond areas so if there is anyone looking for childcare full time ideally 3-5days a week. Would love to discuss more as this would be great for socialising for both mine and your little one. I would drop my usual nanny rates too as I would take into consideration me having my child with me.
Pls pm if interested.
Thanks.
Roxie

Kate - I also have a toddler in Teddy. Here are a few that have stuck in my mind, as well as the Tues/Fri playgroups at Bap Church, which I highly recommend...

There is a drop in soft play type place at the sports Pavillion in Udney Park Rd, think Mon-Fri mornings (small fee)

I have heard good things about Little Fishes at St Francis (?) church at far (Hampton Hill) end of Princes Rd, but don't know days

Highly recommend Diddi Dance at Salvation Army hall in Church Rd on Mondays (2 sessions, £6 pw). My DD's favourite!

There is a paid for Crafty Tales weekly (Fri am, £10 but good value) with dressing up, interactive story telling, singing and bubbles etc, and a craft (sticking!) activity - all on a weekly theme.

There is catch-a-balls at Bap church (poss also Tue and Fri?) Not been but friends do

Library does (free I think) story telling - you used to have to sign up in advance

There is Monkey Music at Landmark Centre. Again not been but recommended by friends

Further afield we love Jellybugs in Kingston - easy by train or bus, in basement of rotunda. It's a mini riot, with tea and cake for sale!

TW11 magazine, a new venture, has lots more listings, including a drop in play/meet at the church in Station Rd every week (Mons?). Not sure how you get a copy, but try some local shops and cafes, eg Astoria (coffee one opp Tesco). Or Tweet @TeddingtonTown, if you do Twitter.

Have fun, and maybe bump into you one day!
