Yes, I know Tesco is a greedy, all-consuming behemoth of a supermarket BUT I think it will be kinder on my purse than Waitrose.

It's mad that Byres Road has gone from just having Somerfield to now having an M&S, Tesco AND Waitrose.

YAY! that is fab news. iceland, m&s, waitrose and tesco, we are IN! i really hope they do a bit of hardware, i've missed that so. (though they'll have to get moving before that new legislation comes out.

I forgot about Iceland! Well I was walking past yesterday and the door was slightly ajar and there was this old man and woman peering at a notice on the door. Me being a nosey parker tried to look and see what it was for but before I could get a really good look the old man said "It's for a Tesco".

It was quite funny because we kind of both didn't know what the other would think of it and did a non-commital "oh" and then he mumbled, embarassed, "that'll be quite good" and then I said "yes, I'm quite pleased about it too!" and we both laughed. Maybe you had to be there. All I actually saw was a list of proposed opening times - think it was up till 10 most nites.

Yes, would love to come for a coffee. I find myself down the Byres Rd most Thursdays, is that a good day for you? I've just checked and still have your mobile no.

yes, thursday's a great day, with the proviso that i'll be doing a wee bit of admin on the computer as and when. dd1 in nursery all day so i tend to COOK and email (and MN).
