Hi! I've recently started writing a blog on parks and playgrounds in Greater Manchester and the surrounding area. It might give you some ideas if you're getting bored of your old favourites. Comments/suggestions welcome!

Hello! I have added the blog to my favourites, it will be useful for finding new places. Incidentally we were at Bruntwood today! We live very nearby. Am hoping for more sun tomorrow, we are going to go back for our last day of freedom!

Toxic Childhood (How the modern world is damaging our children and what we can do about it)? by Sue Palmer

Can you tell me some more about this book parklover?

I live near Bruntwood too - fab park!

Westpark in Macc is good for play equipment.

Saucepanman - I wasn't expecting it to be quite so busy, schools have already started back up here in Bury!Shame about the lack of sun for your last day of hols but hope you had a good time anyway!

Doodlez - thanks for the tip, will add Westpark to my "to do" list!
It's a bit tricky to summarise "Toxic Childhood" - it's about the negative effects of modern lifestyles on children and what we can do about it e.g. protecting children from agressive marketing, the importance of sleep, real play and good food and the dangers and benefits of growing up in the "electronic village".
The author has her own website www.suepalmer.co.uk/toxic.php with lots more info, or you could have a look at it on Amazon? I though it was full of really good advice.

Hi, just thought I'd mention that I've added Wythenshawe Park, Princes Park in Irlam and Fletcher Moss Gardens in Didsbury to the blog this week.
