Is it still spring? Better post lots to fill it up before summer then!

Some beast has eaten all the leaves of our cucumber. Do plants survive that?

Hello all

slng - oh no, maybe it's survival will depend on what's eating it?

Sfx - yes, we too got caught up in that hideous shower at drop off, yuk

Need to re-do passport application again today, was going to do it now but someone has just worken up, d'oh. At last he's on the road to recovery. My neighbour just texted saying her boys have got it now, oops

HI all, just popping in briefly. Hope everyone is well. Busy here with more cakes. Just about recovered from Saturdays school fair. Only one more major event as chair of pta before I hand over to someone else!

DS is off nursery today. He woke up complaining of a sore neck (done the various checks for meningitis) but no ther symptoms, so I'm guessing he has pulled a muscle. He is bedded down on the sofa with regular doses of nurofen, and is quite miserable!

Just a brief hello, recovering from a hideous sickness bug, I haven't felt so ill in a long time. It was tricky looking after the dcs, thank goodness dh had the day off yesterday although he still wasn't feeling brilliant.

There is another Ocado offer today, £15 off if you order for delivery tomorrow.

Hope all ok, sorry for brevity, I have the school run shortly and as usual am trying to pack in too many things! Tilly/SFX will sort out sponsorship soon

Report
sfxmum · 19/05/2009 16:27

pcW hope you can all take it easy it is so debilitating
and thank you kindly for offer to sponsor, my family say it is worth it just to see me in a pink T-shirt

our old postman does parcel delivery now and he spotted us on the road after trying to deliver a parcel at our place, he stopped and gave it to us very nice of him
only thing is it was one of dd's presents and she would not let it go and started opening spotting what was inside....now I have a ladybird running around

May I ask a favour. Could all of you with new names give me a heads up as to who you are/were, as I don't recognise half of you these days (RL is to blame I'm afraid).

CoV I'm still me!

sfx - I got a little pressie for dd but now am afraid it might seem a little tame ...

mellow2 · 19/05/2009 20:21

Evening everyone,

PCW,
Glad you feel a little better. Sympathies you had to look after the LOs even when ill.

SJ,
Wished dd got the cp. Wouldn't mind now as we have a nanny. [evil smile]

We've exchanged with both our buyer and vendor.

Wanted to keep it under wraps until we exchanged as I didn't want to jinx it. We're moving to a 2-bed terrace house in Northfields in 4 weeks. There's is sooooo much to do. Wish this had happened before I started working.

Report
MrsRecycle · 19/05/2009 21:09

Mellow - am SO pleased for you. 4 weeks? Arghhhhh. Glad you were able to exchange on both properties.

Our offer got accepted today - finally! But we've yet to start the ball rolling re. solicitors/mortgage and I'm away next week (at the caravan so not too bad).

sfx - dd sounds adorable in her outfit. My dd2 used to like ladybirds (better red than pink I say).

pcw - how awful for you, I do hope you are feeling better - nothing worse than having to deal with LOs when ill, poor you. Has dh had it yet?

COV - I'm still the same!

Feeling slightly better here, just sipping lucozade. And have managed to cook a ratatouille for tea without feeling too ill

I just saw that story on the bbc site weirdly I know Inwood road quite well, used to live near there, hope they catch him soon

picked up dd from nursery and went to Starbucks had lovely sit down chatting and looking at magazines then had a browse on lovely new 'shoe station' shop and walked home

the only not so great thing was that dd had her second wee on the way home
mummy mummy it is coming now followed by slight spread leg squat and hey presto!

lordy lordy - had an email from my father which verges on the half way normal and expressing regret at how he handled things after he left my mum Thats a first! I detect the hand of my brother in the email... sounds far too "normal" to be 100% my father.

oh its a long story - we had an exchange of emails a month or so ago where I let blast with both barrels and pointed out some of his atrocious behaviour. HIs resposnse was slightly petulant to say the least - "I didn't want to deal with recriminations", no shit well who would after 12 years of behaving like a wanker.

This email completely differnt in tone - actually asked how I was (which is a first in 12 years) wanted to know when Daniels birthday was (says something that he doesn;t know) and if he could have some photos of Daniel and I.

Am torn between feeling theres a possibility of at the very least a civilised exchange and occasional meet and feeling that he hasn't managed to sustain that much with any of his other childrne or grandchildren. So, sceptical I guess.

it is really hard when grown ups can't really handle their emotional lives and the consequences of their actions, just keep pulling you along I know yours is not like mine king B*stard of Bastardonia but I decided long ago to just leave it, can't quite be half in half out and am done

hope you find some way to handle this that suits you and is helpful to you
