OOOh hello dontcallmehon. So there are mums on here that are local. Up to now everyone seems to be in the south that I've chatted to.

I'm mum to 4 - 3 grown up ones and Katherine who is now 9 weeks corrected but 6 months actual. I'm in Unsworth

Hi,
I live on the Prestwich/Whitefield border and am looking after our 2 boys (18 months and 3.5 years) on my own this weekend as hubby is working. Anyone have any ideas for something to do that would be a change from Heaton Park?

Well, I wouldn't do anything that included going out as it's going to be freezing!

Planet Play in Heywood is always a good fall back for a rainy day.

Hi everyone. I'm a new mum to a 7 week old and am new to all things "baby". I've popped to the Redvales children centre in Bury before now if any of you fancy meeting up?

Hellooo!

Not a mum but got 13wk scan on Monday - so may be in with a chance

Live in Prestwich and really interested in antenatal classes/experience of North Manchester General if anyone's got an advice or tips.

Anyone else due this winter?

johnworf · 18/06/2009 20:08

Hi sarochka69 I'm in Unsworth area which isn't far from Prestwich. Hope your scan went well

I had my older children in NMGH but the the last one I had in there is now 18 so it's probably changed since then! My youngest is 1.

Didn't know there was a Jo Jingles in Prestwich. More details?

I'm just about to start at the Soft Play at Besses children's centre. I'm also interested in the local mother & toddler groups. We've got her name down for baby signing too. Hopefully to start very soon

Anyone else nearby?

Hi, I'm actually in Astley but my parents live in Whitefield and we go to the Prestwich Jo Jingles - usually Monday but sometimes Friday as my working hours are really erratic. Mirra - which one do you go to? Anya is 20 months - I'd love to meet up for a coffee with any other mums/toddlers who are willing.

Just found the local section! I'm from Prestwich, currently living in Radcliffe. Have a 3yo and another coming between 4 and 9 weeks!

Signed off work at the moment with SPD, which is getting a bit tedious!

Hi Hawkmoth - wow you must be suffering in the heat - are you hoping your new arrival comes sooner rather than later?

Report
Hawkmoth · 29/06/2009 14:00

Yes to both! But you never know, it might rain every day in August!

I'm 34 weeks on Wednesday... so it can't be any more than 8 weeks to go.

Sadly, because of the SPD, I'm unable to sit in Radcliffe baths every day for hours! I'm not too bad though, just counting down!

Hello everybody. Great to see more mumnetters in the area!

Scan went well thank you johnworf. Didn't realise they jump around so much at such an early stage, punching and somersaulting and everything. Next one on 23rd July.

How many children do you have?

Hawkmoth - it just keeps getting hotter and hotter, fingers crossed your new arrival is on time for you!

Sarochka... just out of interest, why did you choose NMGH over Fairfield? I'm planning a homebirth so hope not to have to go to Fairfield again now, but antenatally they have been fine. I did not enjoy delivering there last time, and the three days I had DD under lights for jaundice were an extended torture session!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 30/06/2009 12:37

Sarochka - glad scan went well - the somersaults are fab aren't they? Not so good in a few months time when they are repeatedly kicking for hours on end and refuse to go to sleep (or was that just mine ?)

I always hear good and bad things about all hospitals - I think it's down to what nurses are like on your ward on a particular few days. I delivered at Bolton and thought they were wonderful - and it wasn't a straightforward birth - but I've heard bad things about them too so you never can tell.

Ah, lo has woken from her nap...

I could probably see you from here Hawkmoth .

I'm 34 weeks today- snap! I'm having a c section at St marys on 30th July.

Are you on the August AN list? I take it you're off work too? There's not a chance I could be working now in this weather, despite me planning to! I'm only getting through the days by tricking DD into thinking there is an extra time in the day, that being "early" which is after DP goes to work and before we are allowed to get out of bed!

Report
suwoo · 30/06/2009 13:29

I was on it briefly. Just finished work on Monday. I only work part time evenings but it involves lifting and lots of standing and I just couldn't take it anymore . I carried 40 or so boxes from the end of my garden to my drive yesterday, which was Hell in the heat.
