Still here, still in one piece.

Lots of niggles and a big show but it's just not starting properly.

I'm 5 days over (now it's past midnight) The midwife said they will let me go 10 then induce me which means I don't get my homebirth.

Thank you

I just keep thinking this time 2 years ago I was in labour, he was a week over so there is still some hope. I do think it's waiting until tomorrow to share with DS.

My SIL is due today so it really is a race now

Hi purpleflower! I hope you are being looked after well! Is DS excited about it, or is he just preoccupied with his birthday?

You know, you dont have to be induced if you dont want to - all decisions are yours at the end of teh day. (not wanting to encourage you to be one of those annoying arsey people, but make sure you are the one in the driving seat!)

I really hope it happens the way you want - I went 10days over with DS, and became so desperate to get him out that i went jogging to try to jiggle him out! (didnt work - and he took his own sweet time (53hrs) before i ended up having a caesarian. So on second thoughts - dont go jogging!)

lots of love, pooter xx

Well........................

DS has a little sister!!!!

Born at 9.30pm yesterday weighing 8lb 10 1/2oz. She is perfect.

I got my homebirth, but only just. She was delivered 5 minutes after the ambulance turned up to transfer me due to meconium in her waters.

Feeling battered but doing well. DS loves her to bits and gave her a huge kiss

Awww, well done, and what a great weight - a whole lb bigger than my DD!

Does she have a name yet? I know you were considering a Hungarian version of DD's name...

Glad DS loves her too

Can't wait to meet her

purpleflower · 04/10/2008 13:48

Thank you

Her name is Rebecca Jill Erzsebet (Elizabeth)

She fed all night refusing to sleep and has now been conked out for 3 hours, just as I get DS back and can't really get rest!

I need to get used to having a daughter, I may even need to buy her something pink

Report
JentlyDoesIt · 04/10/2008 15:24

Surely not! I may have a few teeny pink things from DD that you can have I shall dig them out for you

Congratulations again!

Congratulations PF! and Welcome to DD1.

Oh yes, steer clear of Asda, can't seem to get out of there without an arm load of clothes for my DD's! (so cheap and sooooo cute.)

Its my DD2 Birthday tomorrow, she'll be 2,enjoy the next few months as hard as they seem at the time, they are gone in a flash...!

Hope to meet you and DS and DD "officially" soon.

Congratulations purpleflower!! I hope we get to meet your new addition soon.

must admit that i too am jealous of the baby girl clothes thing. My DD is four now and already has a mind of her own when it comes to what she wants to wear, so make the most of it. I love little stripey tights over those tiny chicken legs and big nappy bottoms! and its winter so a lovely pink rabbit snuggle coat thing with ears...
Oh dear i sound a bit broody..

Hope you are getting some sleep - park offer still holds if you get desperate! xxx

Much love, Pooter xx

Thank you all for the congratulations

My milk is in now so she is starting to settle more. She is just so different to DS, much more calm.

It's really nice having DP home to help but I'm not looking forward to him going back to work, I think DS may change his mind about his sister then. At the moment he adores her.

Forgot to add that she does have some pink clothes now, I stood in tescos for ages and only got her some baby grows as I really couldn't decide

She does have some other stuff too. My aunty got a bit carried away and bought up most of mothercare
