Hi there. I also live in halifax, so that is at least 4 people . Do any of you have any good ideas of how to survive the summer hols, especially if it carries on being a wash out?

I'm so crap at this, but if anyone wanted to meet somewhere for a shifty peek and a rubbish coffee I'd be happy to hang around in Manor Heath or Shibden or M&S. The way I see it is, we arrange a time, place & date but don't commit to being there.

At the agreed time, date, place, some women in varying degrees of motherhood may, or may not, turn up. God forbid thay they aren't there for a shifty shufty themselves, as I guess we'll be hiding behind the little ones, whispering and saying, 'Erm, are you here to meet someone....'

So, if someone would like to be brave enough to suggest something, I may, or not, be there, with my son or my Mum. But I'm working a lot at the moment, honestly, so weekends are rubbish. I'll leave it with you.

Hi, I'm a Halifax mum-of-one (14 months). We're off on hols soon, long car journey. Can anyone recommend any toys that can be attached to car seat to keep her amused? Can't find much on the internet above cuddly toys that hang from the window!

Still anyone from Halifax/Hebden around?

I'm in Hebden, I was surprised it was so quiet on here....

I live in Triangle. I'm surprised that it's so quiet here too, anyone fancy meeting up? I've got a 14 month old and am a SAHM so adult conversation, even a few grasped exchanges in between chasing my son about, are always welcome! I'm normally camped out in Manor Heath most days if it's dry (Tried it in the rain and it's a bit grim)I'll prob. be in a black coat with pink spots. I'm nice and normal and won't become a clingly stalker - promise!

Hello

I'm in Hebden Bridge and am not officially a Mummy yet - but I am about to adopt a one-year-old baby girl. As a single parent. Yikes! I'd really appreciate any help, advice and tips from any local Mums with children of a similar age.

Thanks in anticipation.

Gosh that's really exciting. Hebden Bridge is a great place for toddlers: the park, the ducks, plenty of toddler groups and cafes.

Thanks CKTWO

Didn't realise I'd had a reply and I've only just logged back into the site. Yes, I'm really looking forward to being a mummy in HB - it does seem to be a little paradise for kiddies. And great cafes for the mums, too!

Hello cktwo, (and others) still here, just my access has been limited recently due to my husband's game playing. Where abouts are you?

Hello everyone,
I've only just found this thread!
I too live in Halifax, quite near Manor Heath and can be found there on dry days even wet days sometimes with my 15 month old son Freddie!!
I'm currently looking to get back to work, but until then i would love to meet up with anyone for a walk round the jungle experience or a visit to Shibden to feed the ducks!
Speak soon!
Lisa x

Brunocat - I have DD1 (4) and DD2 (2) and I'm sick of winter. We spend so much time outdoors in summer I'm starting to go stir-crazy!

I miss going to Shibden and Manor Heath. Someone told me the council is building a new water play area in Hebden park - is this true?

Does anyone know if the Jungle Experience is open again? - my little one was beside himself when it was closed due to storm damage early last week. He was clinging onto the gates and howling - don't really want to go back until he can go in again. It was quite funny the first time but not something to be repeated...

I'd be happy to meet up Lisa and walk / run around the Jungle Experience. (My son doesn't really get feeding the ducks yet - he just tries to eat the bread and then tries to launch himself into the lake.)

Another Hebden Bridger here, due in 5 weeks or so. I'm finding it tricky to know what goes on in Hebden/surrounding area for parents and little ones - maybe they keep it all secret until after you give birth?!

Especially keen to meet up with any other 2-mum families, so will check back to see if there are any responses.

Cheers, Mintyfaglady

Hi, anyone fancy meeting up in Manor Heath Park or near there? I have an 8 mnth old girl and we are trying to fit as much in before I have to go back to work in Jan (BOOOO!!). It would be great to meet other mums! x

Hi TJHO,

I live in Huddersfield but the parks here are rubbish here so we often frequent Manor Heath. I have a 2 yr old girl. I work full time but I'm on holiday this week all week and I'm available at weekends every week (mornings are best). I'd be happy to meet up with you. Smile
