Area feedback: Hayes vs Sevenoaks

DH and I both work in the city. We both have long hours: 10+ hours a day. We have an 18m old daughter. After looking for months, we have shortlisted a property each in Sevenoaks and Hayes.

Sevenoaks one is in a much nicer locality though 20min walk from station, school is around 20 mins too. While Hayes one is 10min from station and close to school as well, could easily walk. Sevenoaks price is 10% higher than Hayes, which is expected given the area. Hayes looks more practical. But it does have a suburban feel to it. Sevenoaks looks so much nicer but commute will involve total 40min walk daily and will be more expensive too. In terms of childcare, Hayes has bit more options but happy to be corrected.

Overall, looks like heart says Sevenoaks but head says Hayes! Please help me make a decision.
