Moving to Worthing

We're considering moving to Worthing from Horsham, so not too far. DP and I have four DS between us (17 and 15 year old with us 50%), DS16 and DS11 at home permanently. We've seen a lovely house in Heene Road we like the look of. Schools are not a problem as the boys will stay where they.

What's Worthing like these days? I'm 48 and it was a bit erm, old, growing up. We're an active family, have a dog, like eating out occasionally. Is there much for teens going on?

Worthing has changed! It's not just for the blue rinse brigade these days! We moved to Worthing from North London 4 years ago & absolutely love it! No regrets. It's fantastic living near both the sea & beautiful countryside. Good shopping (high st & independent) and lots of fantastic restaurants & coffee shops, cinema, theatre, concerts etc (in non-covid times!) Loads of other people here who've moved from London & Brighton. Can't comment on action for teenagers as my DS is only 6. Definitely not a hip clubbing/stag & hen party sort of town - you've got Brighton down the road for that!

TobKat thanks so much! I haven't been since about 2013 and that was only to the hospital. Before that was when I used to go clubbing on the pier in 1993!

I'm actually really excited about having a look now, we're hopefully fitting in a few viewings this week as well as the one on Heene Road.

I'm in Worthing and have a 16yo DD.

There isn't much for teenagers tbh but they all seem to manage OK...DD is a member of the Youth Council and if your boys are sporty there will be plenty for them to get into under normal (non Covid) circumstances.

Heene Road is great location as you're no doubt aware and, again under normal circumstances, there's plenty to do for adults and some really good bars and restaurants that don't require you to be a sub-25 Instagram type to enjoy them 😁

@badgerread if you were clubbing on the pier in 93 we've probably crossed paths!

I'm 3 years younger than you so just missed Sterns...my photo was on the flyers for the Mansion House at one point 😁

Hi OP, just wondering if you have made the move to Worthing and if you are happy there? I wondered why you decided to move from Horsham. We are currently looking to relocate from south London to either Horsham or Worthing, just wondering what your thoughts are on those 2 places?
