Do you use laundrettes?

Hi everyone :)

Do you, or have you ever, used laundrettes?
Maybe you look forward to seeing familiar faces?
Perhaps you enjoy, or dread, the walk there or the bus journey back? What do you do whilst you wait for your washing?

I'm a writer, based in Brighton, and am one of 6 artists working on a project called QDT Laundrette produced by local Arts organisation - Quiet Down There CIC.

I'm looking to speak to people who have worked in or used laundrettes in Brighton & Hove - either now, or in the past.
I'm a creative writer, not a journalist, so I'm really just looking for inspiration more than anything. So anything you say will be anonymous, unless you request otherwise!

Any little anecdotes, tales from your favourite laundrette or praise for your favourite worker, or maybe that time you accidentally left one red sock in your white bedding wash?!
No story, thought or memory is too small!

Hopefully by the end of September, I'll have made a small zine with thoughts and stories about/from laundrettes in Brighton & Hove. Whatever I make in the end, it will be available free online and in local laundrettes :)
