does pokesdown deserve it's reputation?

so I've got an offer on a house accepted just south of pokesdown station. it's a really pretty road, tidy houses etc, short walk to cliff tops. can't see anything majorly wrong with the area and surrounds but I'm more familiar with southbourne, we'd hoped to be more towards heignsbury head but this property came up. so now I'm getting worried as I hear about social deprivation and crime etc associated with boscombe and pokesdown. at this point in my life I'm a bit over living in the dodgy bit of town. can i get some local Intel please? is there a particular point where things flip from being plesasnt to unpleasant? where is this? many thanks

Hi Paddingtonthebear - it's on one of the roads between Parkwood Rd and Seabourne Road so effectively between Corpus Christi School and Pokesdown Community School, a very quiet road - very neat and tidy and not too narrow as some of them are. I get the impression that particular area is fine and everything to the east just gets better and better - and to the west parkwood road looks fine as does browning avenue but at some point near there does it change? is it the north side of Christchurch Rd?
thanks in advance
