First Post - Private Schools?

Hi folks ☺️
This is my first post on here, I hope I get my words right πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚
I am 35, with my hubby (41) and a boy in Reception and a girl in Y2. We moved to Derbyshire in 2016 to be near family, after I became unwell long term. Unfortunately we don’t see the family and I really really dislike the way I’m treated around here; I’m used to vibrant, multicultural towns and we now live in a village...and literally two people here give us the time of day....people are rude and fake and I really can’t stay here.
So, as I grew up on the Isle of Wight and loved the beaches, I am really trying to convince Hubby to move to the Bournemouth area - I managed to get him down last October and we liked Throop/Muscliff in particular.

So, I wondered if you could help on private schools...
-We would only want a co-educational one where they could go to school together each day

  • we would like one where the focus is on real life, being down to earth and friendly (the village we live in is mega posh and although we don’t struggle financially, I really hate the way everyone behaves around here 😞)
  • where the teachers are kind and treat children as individuals and nurture them to develop as people as well as academically

-where bullying is genuinely stamped on very quickly and things are in place to help prevent it?

Do a high proportion of children get into grammar schools from private? If we were hoping for that, are there some privates to aim for over others?

Thank you so much and sorry for the long post.

Your time and help are really appreciated β˜ΊοΈπŸ’– xx

I don’t know Bournemouth but I wonder if you might like (as it’s infant/primary you’re looking at) a Montessori school? Aside from that maybe another ethos? Buddhist or Quaker school? Though these are more likely at secondary I suspect
