New local friends

I'm a long-term single parent based in Bristol and I'm looking to make some new friends (not a euphemism for dating etc) I'm approaching 40 with teenage dc and no longer seem to have much in common with my existing friends. My dc have their own friends/social lives and don't really want to socialise with my own friends' dcs anymore (different age groups). I would love to meet some other mums in a similar position, who would maybe willing to meet up without dc sometimes.

What are your interests? Do you have time on weekday evenings to socialise? Have you heard of Meetup? Is it quite active around the Bristol and bath area. You can register online and start joining online groups. These groups post activities and it is up to you to sign up to attend :)
