Potential move to Tunbridge Wells

Hi everyone.
So my husband has been doing a 2.5 hour commute (each way) to London and back for coming up 3 years.
It's safe to say we've had just about enough of it and are looking to move within a more commutable distance.
Tunbridge Wells is the place we keep coming back to but to say I'm overwhelmed by the schooling would be an understatement.
We have a 6 yo girl and a 1 yo girl, so we would be looking at taking out eldest out of her school into a new one.
How would this work if we moved mid year?
(I assume all the places will be gone)
Which schools are recommended, I understand Claremont but she's not going to get in there mid way through the year.
We would consider independent schools but would prefer to send the girls to a good state school.
any advise would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks

broadwater down school is rated 'good' by ofsted and they have information about how to apply mid year on their website (linked). you have to apply directly to the school. all the best x
