We are looking at a new build house and have seen that there are quite a few new ones in the Earlestown side of Newton le willows. We had a drive around and it looked rough around the edges but nothing that put us off too much. Would you recommend this area or avoid?

Hiya! I'm moving there very soon! We've bought on The Willows estate. My daughter is in the nursery there which is outstanding, and it is what I'd class as an 'up and coming' area but not quite there yet. Being 20 mins from Manchester and Liverpool though the location is brilliant and we could afford it. Smile

Brill thank you we have looked at whittle chase, I’ll have a look at the willows too! For the price it seems reasonable and hopefully with all the new houses going up it will only get better!

Newton itself is nicer TBH (I grew up there!)

Thanks that’s what people are saying to us and the price difference show it too! Is Earlestown a bad place to live? I don’t mind up and coming but don’t want to be constantly worried about security/ vandalism etc

Have a look at crime stats Blueberry it's not bad at all really. Little bit of petty crime but no break ins and nothing violent or worrying.

We've bought a lovely house, big 3 bed detached for £195k. Can't knock it for that!
My DP is from a very fancy town outside London and he's quite picky (but not posh), and he's spent the last 6 months since we reserved scrutinising local news and all the online info (like I said, picky!) and he's happy and excited to move there.

Newton-le-Willows proper is a lovely oldy worldy village centre with nice cafes and pubs but Earlestown has all the useful shops - Wilko, Home Bargains, Boots, Savers, Card Factory, McDonalds etc.
