The Marlowes Shopping Centre in Hemel Hempstead has announced their plans for an exciting, fun-packed October half term. From slime workshops, a wandering T-Rex and unforgettable zombie experiences, there will be a variety of engaging activities for both children and adults.

With a flair for running highly engaging and successful children’s events with their Kid’s Club, The Marlowes have lined up a selection of unique activities to keep children entertained throughout the half term. Offering both Halloween and non-Halloween themed events, families can expect a fun filled week that’s completely free.

On Saturday 27th October, Ranger Rob and his baby Triceratops, Herbie will be offering performances throughout the day, teaching children all about baby dinosaurs. Ranger Rob is keeping in theme with The Marlowes current Dino-Discovery attraction which features 3 life-size dinosaurs themed in a pre-historic environment in The Marlowes centre court.

Similarly, shoppers should be watching out for a large prehistoric predator roaming around the centre on Saturday 3rd November. Ready to bring history into the present day, a fully animatronic T-Rex will be stomping around and interacting with shoppers throughout the day, really helping to bring The Marlowe’s’ Dino-Discovery attraction to life.

To celebrate Halloween with the children of Hemel, The Marlowes will be running a Halloween Slime Time session on Wednesday 31st October with Creation Station Craft Club, giving children the opportunity to create spooktacular designs that they can take home with them. Also entertaining children over this period, Herts Inclusive Theatre will be running animated story-telling on Thursday 1st November that will inspire and engage children of a variety of ages.

Vince Williams, Centre Manager at The Marlowes has said: ‘This year we’re going all out for October half-term with activities which will appeal to both families and those without children. Our Dino-Discovery has proved to be so popular; we thought we would expand on our dinosaur theme with a unique offering of interactive experiences. As half-term coincides with Halloween, we have of course incorporated some exciting Halloween themed activities for children and adults alike, offering the community a great opportunity to celebrate the event with us.’

For the adults of Hemel, The Marlowes are offering a special screening of Dawn of the Dead from Vintage Cinema after hours, starting at 9pm on Wednesday 31st October. They’re also hosting a zombie experience which will see the centre overcome with Zombies, run by Wicked Experiences. Customers must find the cure to the Zombie apocalypse by following and cracking a puzzle around the centre.

There’s a huge offering at The Marlowes this October half-term, ideal for celebrating the spookiest time of the year. Head to their website to find out more about all events: www.themarlowes.co.uk/events/
