Controlled parking zone on Crouch Hill. I ask you. What's that about.

Does no-one else care about this rampant hucksterism? Am I all alone in the woodshed?

I just want to join in and say hello. Sorry if the parking pisses you off....

Hello - I'm a very new parent living in Highbury feeling a bit isolated cos partner is back at work and I seem to spend all my time feeding my beautiful, but seemingly greedy, son.

Can anyone recommend any local groups to meet up with other new mums?? I'm still at the stage where I'm scared to venture out in case Felix needs a feed etc (that's if he ever stops feeding off me to give me time to consider a trip out) but would appreciate knowing that there are some things going on in my area.

Felixmum, go to the first time Mum's group at Highbury Grange health centre. It's a series of about 6 meetings on Wednesdays - call them for details. I went and 2 years on have a lovely group of friends I met there. Everyone will be sitting round breatfeeding.

Hi cf2, just noticed your msg. Crouch Hill is the hill that runs from the end of Stroud Green Road (north of Finsbury Park) up towards Crouch End.

It's the very northern tip of the borough (the top of the hill is the border with Haringey)

My crossness about the CPZ was that I visit up there regularly and you now need a resident to give you a voucher etc to park in the side streets. There's no reason to park there unless you are visiting friends - it's the middle of nowhere, there's always plenty of space and there's no tube, so none of the usual reasons for having a CPZ apply. It's really aggravating. Or maybe I'm just turning into Victor Meldrew, dunno...
