My daughter is possibly working in either the western general or the royal Edinburgh hospital next year . Would anyone be able to help with what areas she should be looking at within public transport distance for a flat to rent its only for herself.
Also roughly how much would it cost per month.

Best just typing in the postcodes in rightmove. They are at totally different ends of the town. Edinburgh is expensive I’m afraid. Is she looking for a flatshare or her own place?

Make sure you go for right hospital. The royal Edinburgh is actually the psychiatric hospital in morningside as opposed to the royal infirmary which is the general hospital at little France!

Just did a quick search and you are looking at £795 upwards for a one bed furnished flat.

Our small 1bed flat (literally 3 min walk from the royal Edinburgh, Morningside) would rent for around £550/600pcm- there are plenty like it for rent in EH10... its not available btw, a family rents it for a bit less than that Smile

*a family member, not an entire family, it would be a little cramped! Grin

Agree with a previous poster that you need to confirm the name of the two hospitals she will be working between. The Western General and Royal Infirmary are both large ‘regular’ hospitals. The Royal Edinburgh Hospital is a smaller specialist psychiatric hospital. All three are in completely different parts of the city.

But Google Maps is very helpful for public transport links between all parts of Edinburgh.

She could live city centre and walk to Weatern or easily get transport to Royal.
