Hi all! Hoping the hive mind can help us in our house search.

We (me, DH and toddler DS) are looking to relocate to north Surrey - preferably with a good commute to London Bridge (DH) and Croydon (me).

We've got a budget of up to £450k for a 3-bed house, and ideally would want to be somewhere green/semi-rural.

I've been looking at Coulsdon, Reigate and Kenley - any other areas people could recommend? Or tips about those areas? Very grateful for any suggestions!!

You might struggle in Coulsdon or Reigate on that budget. Merstham, Caterham or Horley might be possible, or parts of Oxted.

Cheers LIZS - the heats got to my brain, I was looking more Redhill than Reigate (and really more Earlswood than Redhill). Thanks for the suggestions, off to Zoopla with me!

Carshalton Beeches, or parts of Wallington and South Sutton are leafy and affordable with good schools/transport links.

Cheers Emmalina! I've got family in those areas, should have occurred to me - though so you know how reliable the services to London are? Big thanks!

Riddlesdown is lovely. Although you may struggle with the budget, but great train links & green right on your doorstep with everything else you need close by.

Ooh great - thanks for all your suggestions! Agree riddlesdown is gorgeous and I think we might just about be able to afford it. Cheam and Ewell hasn't occurred to me at all. And I've not heard of Warlingham so back to zoopla with me - thanks so much everyoneSmile

Warlingham isn't far from riddlesdown at all, nice green with a few shops etc. Hope you find something. We love living here. Close enough to Croydon to pop in, but much quieter, lots of green space, close to trains to London, close to motorway etc too & great schools. Goodluck

Outofmymind- sounds exactly what we're looking for! We're in south Norwood at the moment and although the commute is great we are definitely all piled in on top of one another (at least where we are currently). A bit of blue sky and green space to play with sounds idyllic!
