Moving back to England - Any advice on where to live in Surrey?

We are a bit nervous about where to live. We have looked around Cobham but we haven't been living in England for nearly a decade. Our kids would most likely go to Notre Dame / St Teresas.
We want a forever home so ideally small area not too big like Guildford/ Kingston for example. Similar to a village, however with everything - supermarket, banks, pharmacy, nice community - the usual. (That said I loved going to Guildford as they have a nice mix of shops).

We want this to be our last move - please help.

I’ve lived in Guildford and near Kingston and there’s pros to both. How close do you want/need to be to things like train stations? Travel into London? Your money will go further near Guildford, very good choices of schools near both though less choice for boys (you don’t say what sex your children are)

Thank you for replying. They are girls - we prefer girls' schools. We were considering St Catherine's in Bramley but no idea what that area is like.
We would like to be near a train station (for London), however driving and parking at the station is also an option.

Thames Ditton is the loveliest place I've ever lived. ❤️ Kingston's good for shops and restaurants.

Thank you. We looked at two houses in Thames Ditton but thought it might be too far for St Teresas or Notre Dame?
Are there any girls' schools in that area you could recommend? What do you like about it?

Reigate is a bit far. Dorking would be ok for St T's. Any info or it?

Surbiton High School is a very good girls school near Thames Ditton, you'd be very close to the shops, theatre etc in Kingston then which I prefer to Guildford. If you want to be more accessible to St Catherine's then Ripley is very nice, or West Byfleet or Pyrford. Sir William Perkins is another girls school worth thinking of, Weybridge is close by. Lots of good places really Smile
