Trying to find a cheaper housing option - single parent house share? Or renting an annexe/caravan?

I've been a single parent for about 7 months now and live with my 7 year old in Histon. I have a pretty good job but rental prices are so expensive in Cambridge - I'm struggling to make ends meet and need to find a better solution. I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative for at least the next year or two (so I can start saving and work on a long-term plan). I have come up with these options so far:

Single parent house share
Renting a mobile home / caravan / annexe - probably based in someone's garden / on their land as there don't appear to be any mobile home sites locally that allow under 50s!!

Would anyone in the Cambridge area be interested in doing a house share? Or do you happen to have (or know of) a caravan / annexe type thing to rent? I'm prepared to move from Histon but need to stay within commuting distance of Girton (for school) and Addenbrookes (for work). Also if you have any other ideas for cheaper housing options, I'd love to hear them!!

This housing association might be worth a look? www.hhs.org.uk/about-us

Good luck!
