Hi there! We have a brilliant interactive exhibition that is perfect for children and families currently on display at The Art House in Wakefield. The exhibition is called Townlets and runs until Friday 13 July.
For the exhibition the artist, Yelena Popova, was inspired by Klaus Fuchs, a ‘nuclear spy’ who was imprisoned at HM Prison Wakefield for 9 years after sharing details of the Manhattan project during the Cold War. Alongside a series of paintings and prints she has developed a gallery floor game that visitors are encouraged to play with.
Yelena lived and worked at The Art House throughout May 2018. Townlets is on display in the main gallery weekdays 09:00-17:00 until Friday 13 July 2018. It can also be seen on Saturday 16 June 11:00-16:00 during our free Open Studios event.
Hope to see you there!
