Hello all,

This is my first post so bear with me. I have three daughters and 1 son. Their ages are 8,7,4 and 2. I am currently researching secondary schools as I want to do the best for my eldest daughter who is currently in year 4. I'm going to try and get her to sit the test for bradford grammar school and apply for an assisted place as there is no way id be able to afford to send her to a private school otherwise. I'm also considering Skipton girls grammar but am a bit wary as it's a bit of a trek...but then I think if I want the children to have the best possible education - I'll just have to deal with the long school run. There is also North halifax.grammar and crossley heath..about a 25 min drive from me.

I could send her to dixons city perhaps - but she already attends dixons Allerton academy and even though the primary is great I don't have much confidence in the secondary.

Could I have some advice people x much appreciated.

Hi
I've just seen this post and I always wanted the best possible education for my kids but couldn't afford private education. My kids ended up at Beckfoot in Bingley and have done really well and am really pleased with their education and results. State schools are just as good as long as the kids have your support.

Thank you for your response. I would love for my children to get into Beckfoot but we love outside the catchment area. I am considering North Halifax Grammar - and am looking at the Dixons schools if they don't get grammar. You are right in that if kids have the correct support they will do well in state schools as well.
