Bristol - Which area?

My MIL is moving to Bristol to be near(it) to us. We haven't been here long, so don't know the areas that well. We're in Redland area and she would like to be fairly close, but prefers more suburban areas.
She still drives, so we are thinking North or West of Redland so we don't have to get through town to visit each other.
Which areas have larger numbers of older people? She is in her 80s. She likes to attend church weekly, so preferably somewhere with a popular local church.
Many thanks!

Henleaze or Westbury-on-Trym would be the obvious choices - lots of older people but also younger families, and good local shops and facilities which are accessible without a car, which will probably become necessary in due course, even if she is still driving now.

Have a look at the streets running off Henleaze Road/Northumbria Drive (near Waitrose), or around Westbury Village, or around Stoke Lane. There is a very good GP practice/health centre in Westbury village, next to the church.

I can't advise on churches (atheist) but there are certainly quite a few around there, of all the main denominations.
