Newnham Croft Primary or Barton C of E?

Would love advice from anyone who has experience of these schools. We live in Newnham and youngest is due to start primary school in September 2017. I've heard Newnham Croft is a bit variable - deals well with the really birhgt motivated children and those who are struggling, but does less for those in the middle ability range. Barton had a poor Ofsted a few years ago but seems to have a dynamite Head turning things around...does anyone have any advice please?

I have heard nothing but good things about Newnham Croft. I don't know much about Barton though. I would always value walking to school with the DC though and them having very local friends.
