Hi, I'm a new mum in Richmond with a 10 day old baby and don't know many people. Can anyone recommend any new mum groups/classes where I can meet new people?

Congratulations on your new baby! MOPS (Mother’s of Preschoolers) at Duke St is very welcoming. They meet every other Friday in the hall at the side of Duke St church. Was on yesterday so next session will be 2 weeks time, starting at 9.45.
Little Miracles on Halford Road every Thurs at 10 - so lovely. Run by little old ladies for years. I miss it now I’m back at work!

There's a playgroup at the Barn Church in Kew on Mondays and Wednesdays. There's one at St Winifrede's on a Tuesday and St Anne's on a Wednesday. There's also, when baby is 3 months+ Monkey Music, HartBeeps etc. There is a new playgroup at the Kew Baptist Church on Fridays as well.
I would be honest that at 10 days old I wouldn't be venturing out to playgroups only because winter bugs are rife at the moment and there is a REALLY bad vomiting bug going around the area. (You may not be intending to anyway! I remember going a bit mad indoors around the two week mark...)

The playgroups will be good for later but at this stage I attended NCT coffee mornings (this area is very much NCT home ground!) www.nct.org.uk/branches and the post natal classes run by the Health Visitors at my GP surgery.

Thanks, I was thinking more of friendly coffee mornings (although I don't drink coffee) rather than playgroup at this stage. As a first time mum I don't want to become isolated once DH goes back to work next week.

There are only so many times you can walk around Richmond Park on your own.

Ah, don't know about those. I met up with my NCT pals a few times, and walked endlessly through Kew Gardens listening to podcasts.
