We are delighted to be able to offer as a prize, a family ticket (entry to the House and Garden for 2 adults & up to 3 children) to 'Oh Dickens! It's Christmas' at Chatsworth, open from 11th November to 7th January.

*Child entry for the house & garden ticket is 4–16 inclusive, and children aged 3 and under are free of charge.

'Join us this festive season as we celebrate some of Charles Dickens’ best loved works. Discover the splendour and squalor of Dickensian London, with Victorian shop fronts, the London Docks, Scrooge's bed and much, much more all dressed for Christmas. Fagin and Miss Havisham will help bring the theme to life delighting all ages.

Plus you'll have the opportunity to try on dozens of character costumes. Don't forget to share your photos with us - #ChristmasatChatsworth!

Christmas at Chatsworth spreads beyond the house to include events in the garden and farmyard such as the hugely popular Christmas market (17 Nov - 5 Dec); wreath making classes; an evening pea and pie supper and a nativity play in the farmyard starring the farm animals.'

Got to be Father Christmas from Raymond Briggs film 'Father Christmas'.
Love it when he goes on holiday and lives it up in Las Vegas! My kids end up singing tbe theme song "Another Bloomin Christmas"!

readering Fri 03-Nov-17 21:32:25

Scrooge. lol

In the same vein as readering, I quite fancy being the White Witch from Narnia. Not because I hate Christmas but I love the iconic image of Tilda Swinton, all decked out in furs on her sleigh and eating Turkish Delight.

An Elf. The best Christmas film by far!
I would look a delight in Chatsworth House.

My daughter would probably want to go as Macauley culkin from home alone lost in New York. She absolutely loves that film and wants to play in the toy shop once it's closed for the night.

Me - anything Christmassy is fab so I agree with an Elf, great film. ☺️

My daughter would love to dress as Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchet in the muppet Christmas Carol. She'd look fab. Xx

mrsreynolds Wed 08-Nov-17 21:48:45

Mrs fezziwig! She seemed to be happy and kind and jolly - characters like that are few and far between in dickens' novels!
She also likes dancing 😁
I would wear a bonnet and my best dancing shoes.
I read a Christmas carol every Xmas eve ❤

ellaballoo Wed 08-Nov-17 21:54:49
