Anxiety and Panic attack therapy Hayes

What are Panic Attacks.

A panic attack is a intense sense of psychological and physical feeling’s of panic and fright, which can happen suddenly, often for no clear reason.Panic attacks usually last between five and 20 minutes, and although it may feel as though you are in serious trouble, they aren’t dangerous and shouldn’t cause any physical harm. It is unlikely you will be admitted to hospital if you have a panic attack. You may feel an overwhelming sense of fear and a sense of unreality, as if you’re detached from the world around you.As well as psychological symptoms, you may also experience physical symptoms of panic, such as:

A sensation that your heart is beating irregularly (palpitations)

Sweating

Trembling

Shortness of breath

A choking sensation

A chest pain

Feeling sick

The physical symptoms of a panic attack are caused by your body going into “fight or flight” mode in response to something you think is a threat. As your body tries to take in more oxygen your breathing quickens. Your body also releases hormones, such as adrenaline, causing your heart to beat faster and your muscles to tense up.

We see a lot of clients who suffer panic attacks . Panic attacks are easy to cure if you seek out the right kind of help. (lets differentiate first between panicked attacks and other anxiety disorders). Panic attack is based on Adrenaline kicking in at an inappropriate time. Adrenaline kicking is is a normal and needed part of human functionality that serves as the fight or flee emotional make up of every normal person. It is there to serve the purpose of if in a danger situation should we arm our self mentally & physically to fight that danger or should we run from that danger, we have to make a split second decision , of subconsciously on which of those 2 courses of actions to take. With people who suffer panic attacks normally due to some previous bad experience or trauma, that system is simply out of calibration. Ie that fight or flee decision making decision and level is not in sync. There are many proven techniques to get this system back in sync these are generally hypnosis based practices, clinical hypnosis, Nuero linguistic programming, because it is the sub conscious mind that needs just some gentle re clarification. No drug is proven to do this, no other talking therapies will do this. Any experienced clinical hypnotherapist will cure Panic attacks in 1 to 3, 1 hour sessions with high success rate. Anoxeria nervosa
Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health condition. It’s an eating disorder where a person keeps their body weight as low as possible.

People with anorexia usually do this by restricting the amount of food they eat, making themselves vomit, and exercising excessively.

The condition often develops out of an anxiety about body shape and weight that originates from a fear of being fat or a desire to be thin. Many people with anorexia have a distorted image of themselves, thinking they’re fat when they’re not.

Anorexia most commonly affects girls and women, although it has become more common in boys and men in recent years. On average, the condition first develops at around the age of 16 to 17.

Read more about the causes of anorexia.

Signs and symptoms of anorexia
People with anorexia often go to great lengths to hide their behaviour from family and friends by lying about what they’ve eaten or pretending to have eaten earlier.

Signs someone may have anorexia or another eating disorder include:

missing meals, eating very little, or avoiding eating any fatty foods
obsessively counting calories in food
leaving the table immediately after eating so they can vomit
taking appetite suppressants, laxatives, or diuretics (a type of medication that helps remove fluid from the body)
repeatedly weighing themselves or checking their body in the mirror
physical problems, such as feeling lightheaded or dizzy, hair loss, or dry skin
Anorexia can also be associated with other psychological problems, such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, alcohol misuse, and self-harm.

Bulimia
Bulimia is an eating disorder and mental health condition.

People who have bulimia go through periods where they eat a lot of food in a very short amount of time (binge eating) and then are deliberately sick, use laxatives (medication to help them poo) or do excessive exercise, or a combination of these, to try to stop themselves gaining weight.

Men and women of any age can get bulimia, but it’s most common in young women and typically starts in the mid-to-late teens.

Symptoms of bulimia
Symptoms of bulimia include:

eating very large amounts of food in a short time, often in an out-of-control way – this is called binge eating
making yourself vomit, using laxatives or doing an extreme amount of exercise after a binge to avoid putting on weight – this is called purging
fear of putting on weight
being very critical about your weight and body shape
mood changes – for example, feeling very tense or anxious
These symptoms may not be easy to spot in someone else because bulimia can make people behave very secretively.
