Reeds school and St Johns

Hallo all
Looking for a school for my DS for 2018 Y7 start. He has mild dyslexia, loves sport, is at a state primary school and has not been tutored for entrance exams (Has a tutor who helps with his dyslexia in English and Maths but not entrance exams in particular).
Has anyone any experience of Reeds and St Johns? Does my son stand a chance if not been tutored for entrance exams? Do the schools offer good pastoral help for dyslexia once in the school. Struggling to know whether we should put him forward. Would hate to overwhelm him with entrance exams.
Thanks

No personal experience of St John's, but he should have a great chance with Reeds.

Just seen this. I'm an OJ and the school used to be very supportive. The last head tried turning it into a new Winchester. Unless you have a confident, academic child, I'd say Reeds.
