Need help - moving to Surbiton, Tolworth or Chessington

Hi guys

I was hoping someone can share some information with me with regard to relocating to Chessington. Is this place a decent area to bring up kids? Good schools, etc? We initially wanted Surbiton but can't afford it :)

Many thanks for hints and pointers...

Mika

Depends where in Chessington - some nice, some not so much

The secondary school in Chessington is iffy. There is green space around, but it does lack rather in shops (though has improved abit, now that there is a LIDL).

Where do you work? Driving across the A3 towards Kingston is a nightmare and it only has slow trains into London (and is in zone 6, so can be expensive).

Hersham? Faster train service that Chessington, a Waitrose and perhaps feels like it has a bit more of a village-green feel but I don't think it's as expensive as Surbiton.

Slower trains is why Chessington is cheaper than surbiton! Depending whereabouts in Chessington you are, you can get the 71 bus to surbiton and the catch a fast train to Waterloo. You’ll save a ton of money on your house but won’t get a seat on the train or accept the stopping service and always get a seat (and still save money in the process). I would prefer Chessington to Tolworth housing wise but there are more shops in Tolworth. Is schooling your priority?
