Sutton High Junior School GDST is delighted to invite girls and boys aged 2 – 4, as well as their parents, to a series of free Discover Junior School music and storytelling sessions during autumn term 2017. The events are designed to help children build their confidence and excitement about school so they hop, skip and jump down the path when the time arrives for their first day.

It is one of the defining moments of all our lives — the day you start ‘proper’ school. The uniform is perfect and the shiny new shoes are ready, after many trial runs during the weeks before.

As a child, there is the anticipation of what lies ahead, the feeling of growing up and new independence. As a parent, it is a day which involves many feelings — pride at what your child can already achieve, excitement that they are starting their academic journey and, quite naturally, a little anxiety.

Our Discover Junior School events are designed to help you and your child reduce uncertainty or nervousness, and see how our Nursery is the perfect preparation for girls before they start school life.

Music sessions run from 9.15am–10am in the Junior School Hall on the dates below. They are led by our Specialist Music Teacher, Miss Delany, and Nursery Class Teacher, Mrs Thomas.

Wednesday 4 October

Our storytelling sessions are with Olivia Armstrong, who regularly tells stories at the National Gallery, Windsor Castle, Dulwich Picture Gallery and the Horniman Museum, amongst many other museums and galleries. You can find the dates below (each day has two sessions available).
