The Police Dependants' Trust is the UK charity providing targeted support and financial assistance to police officers who are injured or killed on duty, and their loved ones. Thanks to donations and fundraising by the public, we can support every officer, past, present & future, injured on duty. And with the number of officers injured every day now at a record high, and attacks on police officers becoming a daily occurrence, the importance of the Police Dependants' Trust is more important now than ever before.

The police service (and the wider public sector) is going through a period of unprecedented change, as is the Police Dependants' Trust. We are committed to raising our profile and supporting more police families by extending our activities and telling more people about the good work of the Trust.

To that end, we are recruiting a finance officer/book-keeper and a communications assistant to join our team. These are challenging and varied part-time roles with flexible hours.

Finance officer - This is a varied role working 21-25 hours a week and we are flexible as to the days and times worked. There is also the potential for the right candidate to take on more responsibility depending on experience. Candidates should be proficient in using SAGE 50 and have good Excel skills and attention to detail. In keeping with the needs of a small team a flexible and can-do attitude will be essential, and experience working for a grant making or benevolent charity or not for profit organisation is desirable but not essential.

Communications assistant (10hpw) - This post holder will work in collaboration with our staff, volunteers and network of supporters and stakeholders to raise the profile of our work, services and projects. You will play a key role in communicating with our audiences, include working with traditional media, as well as digital and social media. The role will also assist in organising Trust run events.

If you have experience or background in finance or communications, we'd love to hear from you. To find out more about the roles, visit
