Hi all, my dh is a little overweight and we have been trying to conceive for 2 years without success. He has a sweet tooth and eats almost anything that is sweet. I was reading an article lately that said that lot of sugar intake can lead to infertility in men. It may sound silly but I am really worried can this happen. Wanted to know please give your opinions

(Bettygary) read your post and this is not silly, it is a serious issue. Many of us are aware of the fact that high sugar intake is bad for health but few only consider that how it can affect the fertility. The impact of high sugar on male fertility can be detrimental. It may lead to low sperm count, hormone disruptions, impaired sperm production, and nutritional deficiencies. As you also said that your dh is a little obese, you should keep tabs on his sugar intake and I strongly recommend that you immediately consult your doctor. He/ she is the right person to guide you through. All the best.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for posting. We will definitely take medical advice. I made my dh read the articles and your posts and now he also thinks that we should go see our doctor and also he has reduced a bit of his sugar intake. This really helped me, as I was trying to cut his sugar intake for a long time, but reading this has helped me a lot. Thanks again.
