I am mum to 3.5 year old boy and 14 months old little girl. My son has special needs (suspected autistic spectrum) and is going to start reception next September 18. We live in Whetstone and will be moving to Barnet (EN5) in March 18. Can anyone recommend good mainstream schools who can accommodate child with special needs and can provide good support? He hopefully will have EHCP plan in place by the time he will start the reception. I am also looking to meet other mums who have SEN children in this area (Whetstone/Barnet).
Is there much flow between the autism unit and the rest of the school? My DD has a learning disability and we're also in the early stages of an autism assessment. I'd love her to go to a mainstream school but with the option of spending some time with SEN specialists.
Hey. I’ve just seen this thread. I’m really interested in Livingstone too. Living in Enfield borough though but all schools with units are full here. Son has autism (undiagnosed) but receives full support 32.5 hours with ehcp. Hope to visit soon. They say they are full but hoping will make an exception.
We are desperate and don’t want to commit to special school yet as he’s not 5 yet.
