I was just wondering how or why a person would register a baby's birth twice on the same day. One register contains the baby's surname as the mothers maiden name and the other register has the fathers surname as the baby's surname. It seems odd. Parents were married in 1999 and baby was born in 2005. So basically they registered baby once with mothers maiden name and again with fathers surname. Would they get 2 birth certificates in 2 different surnames for baby? Same register number on both so must have been done at same time.
