Summer Activities 2017 - week 1

Hello all - thought I'd start a thread where we can add any activities that we know are happening during the summer holidays. I'm taking the week starting Monday 24th as the first one although as my own DD is still in school for part of that week I probably don't have a lot to add!

The Fair is coming to Gloucester Park, on Tuesday afternoons the rides are normally only £1 so that's the best time to go!

Gloucester Quays has their food festival starting on 28th, and the lectures are free this year. Stefan Gates is appearing on Friday, Tom & Henry Herbert on Saturday and Candice (Bake Off) Brown on Sunday.

If anyone's on FB I recommend joining the group called Entertaining Kids on a budget Gloucester. Covers Gloucestershire really ☺

It is a great group, as you say not everyone is on FB though and I thought it would be a good topic to start a thread on as most people are looking for activities during the Summer.

For a non-budget option, how about Mad Science days - in Cheltenham (£30 per day) Mon-Thurs of that first week. Or the Steam Fair (Gloucestershire Vintage and Country Extravaganza) at South Cerney Airfield on 4th, 5th and 6th August - tickets are cheaper if you buy in advance online.

Lots going on in Quedgeley! Next Wednesday there is the launch of the Soft Play revamp at the Q Club. It'll be for children up to 8 and open Mon-Sat mornings (good coffee and cake too! Cake Brew Grin) and at the launch there will be lots of children's entertainers as well as the Mayor!!

Then there are also Soccer Camps for kids 6-14 (boys, girls, all abilities) and I've looked into it and it's much cheaper than a childminder, plus they're Ofsted registered so you can use your childcare choices on it. They're the only ones endorses by Gloucester City so should be really good! Just google Community Tigers to find the website and book through them (it's cheaper to book than pay on the day)
