3 of my 4 have flown the nest. I never thought I'd miss them, but I do Sad

Do you find that it's a subject other people don't always talk about?its almost as if admitting you miss them means you have not got a life, but that's not true it's the end of a big phase of your life a massive change!!

Mine are both still at home, 22 and 18 years, the oldest has got a good job locally and shows no signs of moving out so far, the youngest was off to Uni in September, and to be honest she needs to go, because she is rude and treats me very badly, however she's now thinking of taking a gap year. The prospect of her being at home for a year is not an appealing one. I may need to get a job! Any suggestions?

No idea whether it would suit you or not, but there are always opportunities for care workers in Suffolk. I started with an agency and was sent to a wide range of care establishments. My heart was for the elderly, so after a year I applied for and got a care worker post at a retirement home.

My 19 year old left home a few weeks ago to house share so no kids at home now ☹ Am so proud of the independent young man he's grown up to be but inside I feel so lost & like I am grieving. I work full-time & am married but this pain inside won't go away. Any ideas anyone?

Yes I find it hard to talk about for exactly that reason! But I do have a life. A ft job, husband, friends & hobbies. Don't want to sound like a clingy mother. I was a single Mum for many years so not sure if this makes a difference? Feeling so lost.......

2 of mine live in London - 1 north & 1 south, so I love going to visit them as it makes such a change, plus it's obviously great to see them & their girlfriends and catch up on all their news. If your DS is only a few streets away, I guess this might not apply to your situation! Has he moved far?

He has only moved 10 mins away but we both work shifts so not much chance to spend time together. But he's joining the Army next month. He's just 19. I'm so proud of him but miss him so much. Thanks for replying

There are so many families in Suffolk with armed forces personnel in them! I'm not surprised you're proud of him, you should be. He'll get leave and will love spending it with his Mum, I feel sure.
