Hi All lovely ladies,

Hoping to get some help regarding the preference of hospital services(as i am totally freaking out). I am just 5 weeks and i have option of Croydon university and St Helier at Carshalton.

Does anyone have any suggestion with the services available at these hospitals.

I am confused as i have heard some bad reviews about Croydon university and mixed ones for St helier as well.
Wanted to know the feedback about the antenatal services at these hospitals and maternity services as well

Hoping someone comes to my rescue Smile

I had a shit experience at Croydon (Mayday as was(m) maternity twice. And had shit experiences since with a&e and paediatric. Dunno about St Helier sorry but I'd go to St George's or ideally Kings if poss. Depends how far away you are.

I didn't have a great experience at Croydon University Hospital (Mayday back then), either. That was nearly 10 years ago, though. I hired a private room for afterwards, rather than being on a ward, which helped, but if I was going to have another baby I'd look for somewhere else to have it. There were also long, long queues for antenatal stuff. It was pretty poor.

In general I don't have a high opinion of CUH; my impression is that St Helier is preferable (although I have no experience/knowledge of maternity services at St Helier - my opinion is based on the various other treatments I've had at CUH and at St Helier.) Would also rate St Helier as easier to get to and park at, assuming you're travelling by car.

Are you sure that they are your only two options? You have lots of time; maybe google all the hospitals within striking distance. I've heard good things about Reigate. Depends where you live and what your transport options are like.

What about East Surrey up at Redhill? That's where I had my daughter. Couldn't fault them.
