Meeting friends.. New to area stood/maidstone

I am posting on behalf of a friend. She is a single mum and works full time. With a one year old. Can anyone recommend clubs or groups where she can take her little lady in the evenings or weekends? Its really difficult to meet new friends and settle in a new area x the for all your help in advance x x
