Bruton School for Girls

I wonder if anyone can help. My family is returning to the UK next year after 12 years of expat life. We're looking for an independent girls school and are currently considering Bruton School for Girls, Royal High in Bath or Red Maids in Bristol. My girls are 4, 8 and 12 and are currently in a nurturing but academic all girls school in Australia. I recently visited all the schools listed and was very taken with Bruton but as it's such a small school it's hard to find any opinions/recommendations on it. Although reasonably bright I don't think a super academic/pushy school would suit my eldest and neither would a super sporty school. Does anyone know anyone at Bruton and if they're happy or know of its reputation? I was also very impressed with Red Maids. Location is not a problem as my hubby will be flying out for work. Any help would be really appreciated.

My friend's two girls went there.

They loved it and have both grown into incredibly well-rounded successful young women.

It has an excellent reputation locally (I live about 20 miles away). I wish we had had the opportunity to send ours boys there.

Thank you AbigailsRevenge. That is good to know. It's so difficult to make a decision being so far away. I must say Somerset looked stunning when I visited too. Such an interesting, creative county to live in!

I have friends at Redmaids, it is academic (not quite bordering on pushy though), their daughter and her friends are very sporty and they stay on most afternoons to do training. It may just be them though rather than school expectations.

Bruton - Ive heard of, but nothing specifically, I dont think its as sporty or as academic as Redmaids.

Somerset is beautiful, be very careful if relocating to Bristol area, the traffic is awful.
