Opinions on moving to Snaresbrook/Wanstead?

Just wanted to see if anyone has any information/opinions on living around that area? Looking for some greenery, fresh air and peace as baby due very soon but still need to access London for work.

I grew up around Ilford, went to school in Woodford, so I know around the area quite well but very little about Wanstead/Snaresbrook. All I know is the high street.

Specifically, are the nurseries and schools around there ok? Where the biggest supermarkets are? How clean is the air as its so close to Leytonstone? Is there a forest thats accessible (really want to spend a lot of time with my child growing up around nature)

Anyway, just general opinions from anyone thats lived there :)

Thank you guys!

There are loads of supermarkets: Co-Op on the high street in Wanstead, Tesco in Leytonstone, Sainsbury's, M & S food and Waitrose in S Woodford.

Great selection of schools, both state and private.

The air feels pretty good and there is loads of green space: Wanstead Park, Wanstead Flats and the whole of Epping Forest.

We moved here six years ago and love it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Take a look at the Wansteadium website for some local insights.

Great for greenery and transport into London. Good for primary schools, less so for secondary. Supermarkets as pp said. Also within easy reach (3 tube stops) of Westfield for all your consumer needs/worst nightmares.

Generally a lovely area, although people know it and it's been popular for a while so priced accordingly. Property isn't cheap, there are cheaper (less naice) areas nearby.
