Ark Blacklands in Hastings

Hello Hastings peoples

My son has just got a place at Ark Blacklands. Looks like it's had a massive turnaround (according to Ofsted anyway). I'm wondering if anyone has kids there and can tell me what it's really like?

We're moving to Hastings next month. Still haven't found anywhere to live... Also wondering about the commute into London. I work from home but my other half will be doing it. Aware it won't be easy but is it as bad as it looks?

Hi, my kids don't go to blacklands but it does have a good reputation and I haven't heard anything negative about it so you should be fine, the commute to London no idea, Hope you enjoy your new home Smile

Yes we are. Not looking in any particular area though! It certainly seems to be picking up. And stressing us out!

You are right, Blacklands does seem to be on the up! I know lots of people who do the daily commute from St Leonards and there are plenty of places to live within walking distance of two stations (Hastings makes three... if you prefer to live ten minutes further north, near Battle, that's another station.) The Charing x train is more reliable than the Southern one to Victoria at the moment (it's also quicker.) Good luck with it all!

The good thing about commuting from Hastings is that it's at the start of the line, so you will always get a seat in the morning!
